Nautical North Family Adventures’ PADI Open Water Course is the first course to attain your personal scuba diving licence. Your first certified scuba diving course involves home based theory, pool session, 4 Open Water dives including 2 boat dives. The Great Lakes and Mackinaw Straits offer a fantastic variety of dive sites for you to explore. You can discover a world of reefs, shipwrecks, aquatic life and history under the depths of Lake Huron and Lake Michigan.

Prerequisites

  • Minimum of 10 years of age for Junior Open Water (Limited to 40ft max depth
  • Minimum of 15 years of age for Open Water Course (60ft max depth)
  • Swim 200 yards/meters and tread water for 10 minutes
  • Need to be in good physical and mental health
  • Your own mask, snorkel, boots and fins

Course cost $795 per student and includes:

  • PADI E-learning Materials
  • Professional PADI Scuba Diving Instructor for 3 Days
  • Use of Rental Scuba Equipment, (where required) including BCD (Buoyancy Control Device), Regulators, Computer, Weights, Cylinders and Air Fills
  • Confined Water Dives (Pool Dives)
  • Four Open Water Dives (2 shore dives/2 boat dives)
  • PADI Open Water Diver Certification—Dive Anywhere in the world up to 60ft/18 meters
  • Double Boat Dive to 60ft/18 meters

Availability

  • 3 or 4 days over 2 weekends, Midweek or consecutive courses available

Optional Extras—Enriched Air Nitrox

  • Add on an Enriched Air Diver course to learn how to extent your bottom time and stay down longer
    with a higher oxygen concentration
